The most important event in the life of Barachias Irons took place in June 1968, when she was just 11 years old. It was the year she accepted Jesus as her personal savior and was baptized with the Holy Ghost. She believes that everything else that is written below is a direct result of making a commitment to the Lord as a child.
A third generation member of the Church Of God In Christ, Inc. Evangelist Irons began sharing the word of God at 14 years, and conducted her first revival that same year. She has been blessed to be a part of the operation of the International Headquarters of the Church Of God In Christy since she was 19 years old. She was an employee in the International Missions department from 1978 until the Lord called her into full-time evangelistic ministry in 2001. During her tenure with the Missions department she was afforded the opportunity to carry the good news of Jesus Christ into many different countries.
A native Memphian, Evangelist Irons is a graduate of the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Fine Arts. Her degree in journalism created the opportunity for her to work as the Editor of the International Missions Magazine, “The Voice of Missions”. Having seen her work in this area she received a national appointment in 2001, as the Editor of the National Souvenir Journal, an annual publication released each November during the International Holy Convocation.
Evangelist Irons is a member of Pentecostal Assembly Church Of God In Christ in Jackson, Tennessee. Her pastor was the late Elder A. Z. Hall, Jr. the former General Secretary of the Church Of God In Christ. At her local church she serves as the Assisting Minister of Evangelism. She is the District Evangelist for the Jackson District and Elect Lady of Evangelism for the Tennessee Central Jurisdiction. In 2000, a highlight of her ministry came when she received her National Evangelist license from Mother Willie Mae Rivers, International Supervisor of Women.
Just recently, the Lord has given her the name for a ministry that he birthed in her eleven years ago. The ministry is “Restoration Ministries”, based on the scripture, Galatians 6:1. The ministry is an outgrowth of a deep concern she has for ladies who may be hurting emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Each year she leads a group of ladies to various cities for a time of spiritual and emotional renewal, as well as physical relaxation.
Instilled in her as a child, the importance of God’s word, two of her favorite scriptures are, Isaiah 26:3 and Psalm 16:11. These words have been a guide for her life.
She is the proud mother of one son, C. Anthony Irons, II. He is employed with the City of Memphis, and he serves at their local church as the organist and President of the Youth and Young Adult Choir.
